my musical life

a legend in my own mind!!

1976 - 1982

Played in a 4 piece band 'Delta 9' (Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Guitar, all singing). Gigs around Gold Coast and Northern NSW. Played avant-garde rock / jazz music and covers of Santana, AWB other funky stuff (but more rocky than funky). Supported Rose Tattooo, Moving Pictures, other not so famous bands. Wrote original songs and gradually built our own recording studio in Springbrook (Gold Coast Hinterland Mountains) starting with 4 Track Tascam Reel to Reel. Upgraded to 8 track then 16 Track Tascam Reel to Reel. Recorded ourselves and various local artists (including semi famous country singer Lee Conway - who ripped us off and nearly sent us broke!)

1983 - 1988

Amalgamated with a 24 Track Recording Studio in Springbrook to form 'Springbrook Recording Studio'

1989 - 1990

Left Springbrook Studio after partners committed studio to massive debt with limited income - set up personal home studio. Recorded and played on ex Krishna Kids project musicians' album (Havi) (still waiting for cheques to cover sessions!)

1990 - 1993

Wrote my own songs and employed 2 female vocalists lead/backing to once again seek stardom! (Mainly gigged around Gold Coast as 'Red Square'). Lead vocalist used my songs and recordings to get a job on childrens TV Brisbane and get Denni Hines' Manager to sign her (but NOT us!) Final Performance supporting Michael Winslow at Twin Towns RSL

1994 - 1997

After doing a spreadsheet to calculate hours worked verses pay for gig = $3/hr, retired from music full time to actually earn some money as a Musical Instruments Salesman (specialising in MIDI) then Computer Salesman/Consultant.
